Influenced by the European Masters of the 19th Century Barbizon School, Richard Brodie's (1942-2016) oil paintings ranged from moody street scenes and landscapes to classical still life paintings. The Pacific Asia Museum in Pasadena, California honored Brodie with solo exhibitions in 1990 and 1994. Other museum exhibitions included the Pasadena Museum of History (Pasadena, CA), the Phippen Museum (Prescott, AZ), the Frederick R. Weisman Museum of Art at Pepperdine University (California), Carnegie Museum (Oxnard, CA) and the Luckman Fine Art Gallery at California State University, Los Angeles.
