Mark Roberts graduated from California Polytechnic State University San Luis Obispo with a degree in graphic design. Late, he received his formal fine art education at the California Art Institute, studying under respected artists such as Neil Boyle, Quan Ngo, Norman Nason, and Glen Orbik. From 1997 to 2000 Roberts worked at Walt Disney Television Animation designing backgrounds and props for various animated series such as "Recess", "Hercules", and "Lloyd in Space". Presently, Roberts teaches at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, and at Las Positas College in Livermore. He also teaches privately to a loyal group of local painters and holds workshops, some of which have taken him to locations such as Costa Rica. Roberts is an Artist Member of the California Art Club and Oil Painters of America. Museum exhibitions include the Pasadena Museum of California Art and the Pasadena Museum of History.
