Wladyslaw T. Chmielinski (1911-1979) was born in Warsaw and studied at the Academy of Fine Arts between 1926 and 1931. His central motif was Polish architecture, especially of Sandomierz or Krakow. He also painted interiors of historic churches and palaces such as the Royal Castle in Warsaw. Another part of his oeuvre includes rural scenes, which he usually decorated with sleighs, toboggan scenes or folk festivals. He continuously lived and worked in Warsaw, except for a brief period in Denmark. This sought-after artist has 350 international auction records.
